Staff
Ours is a small team yet our staff are our greatest asset. Although few in number, we bring a depth and diversity of experiences that complement each other beautifully and enable us to give a first class, and very personalised service.
Adrian Ferraro BSc (Hons) FRGS
The original driving force behind the STC, Adrian has travelled and trekked throughout many parts of the world over the past 16 years. His first major expedition was a six month epic through Africa (London to Nairobi overland, crossing the sahara and the "Heart of Darkness" in Zaire). Other trips have included 4 months in South America (Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina) as well as various trips to Nepal, Finland, South Africa, Morocco, Turkey and elsewhere. He has trekked in the Andes, Alps, Himalayas, Turkey and New Zealand as well as exploring the wilder sides of the UK in both summer and winter. He has spent the last 9 years working in the adventure travel industry arranging trips and expeditions across the globe.
Adrian is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and is on the committee for the South West RGS region. He has a degree in Exercise Science from Birmingham University and a Level III OCR Certificate in Off-site Safety Management. He is particularly passionate about the educational benefits and "lessons in life" that travel and adventure can bring and when not in the office he enjoys mountaineering, climbing, skiing and surfing, as well as introducing his two young children to the delights of foreign travel.
Julia Scarle BA (Hons)
Julia joined the STC in early 2009 to further her career as a PA. With previous experience of working at high level within the education system, as well a passion for religious, social and cultural customs around the world, she is the rock that keeps us in line and the business on track. With a strong interest in travel, her "most wanted" destination list has got significantly longer since joining the company.
