An exhilarating winter break on Europe's highest volcano!

This stunning winter weekend adventure takes in a landscape defined by the imposing presence of Mount Etna, Europe's largest volcano, a volatile giant whose periodic outburst cause the very land itself to metamorphose. Basing ourselves on the slopes of the mountain, we spend our days snow-shoeing and skiing across a terrain of quite surreal beauty, enjoying its breathtaking views and experiencing something of the mountain's unique topography as it lies blanketed under its winter mantle. With a chance to also explore the stunning Greek Theatre in nearby Taormina, this short break gives us a brief glimpse of an engaging island that is socially, culturally and geologically separated from the Italian mainland.
