Ugandan Project Expedition
Combine community-led project work with wildlife encounters in Murchison Falls National Park, a River Nile cruise and a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Get ready for an unforgettable experience as we connect with students from a local school, fostering cross-cultural exchange and meaningful interactions. This immersive visit offers a unique opportunity to share perspectives, learn from one another, and build friendships. We also embark on an exciting adventure to Murchison Falls National Park—Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area. We witness breathtaking landscapes, encounter incredible wildlife, and enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on the River Nile to the bottom of Murchison falls. We will also enjoy a fun-filled evening at Ndere cultural centre where Uganda’s diverse traditions are showcased through music, dance, and storytelling.

Day 1
Arrive Kampala
Our adventure starts today as we depart the UK on our international flight to Kampala. Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, we will be welcomed by our leader and transferred to our hotel in Entebbe (approx. 20 minutes).

Day 2
Orientation & Mango Farm

After a good night's rest, we will have a short orientation session about Uganda from our leader. We then head to a local shopping centre to use the forex bureau, buy SIM cards and enjoy a traditional Ugandan buffet lunch. Later we transfer to our hotel in Masindi, where we will visit a mango farm to try the fresh juice. We will also visit the garden at the farm and see some of the animals there. We get an early night before heading out on safari tomorrow!

Day 3
Murchison Falls National Park
All meals included
We have an early start this morning as we transfer to the River Nile in Murchison Falls National Park. We start the day with a morning game drive in the northern sector of the park while animals are most active, as we search for animals like lions, elephants, buffalos, leopard, hartebeest, antelopes and tropical birds. After lunch, we will enjoy a relaxing boat cruise (2 hours) on the River Nile to the bottom of Murchison Falls, seeing animals like buffalo and crocodiles along the riverbanks, as well as a wealth of birds. After an action-packed day of spotting wildlife, we return to our hotel in Masindi.

Day 4
Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

We board the bus early and make our way to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here we will learn about the work being done to protect these white rhinos. In the afternoon we have the option to do some rhino tracking. In the evening, we will do a bit of planning and discuss what to expect during our time on the project days ahead.

Project Work

Over the next few days, we will focus on project work. The specific nature of the project will be determined after we meet with the local community to understand their needs. This will be a community-led effort, ensuring that our work leaves a meaningful, lasting impact.

Day 9
Return to Kampala. Traditional Dance Performance
All meals included
Today we bid goodbye to our new friends at the project and return to Kampala. In the evening we will enjoy some cultural activities, perhaps a dance performance or something similar.

Days 10–11
Return to Entebbe
Meals included: breakfast and lunch
On our final day in Uganda, we visit a craft market to buy some last-minute souvenirs. Our final meal in Uganda will be a delicious BBQ lunch, before transferring to Entebbe in time for our return flight back to the UK.
