Day 2
Marrakech, Aremd, Imlil Atlas Mountains
All meals included
This morning we have the opportunity to visit the souks and soak up the magic of Marrakech. We then journey into the mountains to the small mountain town of Imlil — the starting point for expeditions to Mount Toubkal and beyond — before taking a short trek to the Berber village of Aremd, set deep in the Atlas Mountains. In Aremd we enjoy a cooking lesson where we learn how to make traditional dishes that are central to Moroccan cuisine. After a lunch of local food, we go on a short hike in the surrounding area, meeting local people. Life has changed little here over the years, and our accommodation tonight is a simple village house or ‘gite’.
