A Geographer through and through, Hettie, has lived in seven different countries and travelled to many more, favourites including Mongolia, The Sultanate of Oman and Japan.
She has taught for 25 years: five years as a wandering English language teacher, then a 20 year career teaching secondary school Geography. The best part of being a Geography teacher is taking young people on real or imaginary journeys throughout the world - hence the move into adventure travel. She likes to bring the classroom alive by organising school trips locally or to far flung places, but always with responsible travel in mind. As a qualified Mindfulness in Schools teacher, she also places a strong emphasis on appreciating where you are, regularly slowing groups down to reconnect with nature and breathe.
When she is not day dreaming about adventures (top of the bucket list are Costa Rica and Nepal), you will find her walking her Labradors on Dartmoor or the coast path, cooking huge feasts for family and friends, or reading travel or crime books.
