Skateboards!

Whilst exhibiting at a travel show recently, we had the great privilege of meeting three very inspiring young men from Plymouth. Matt Elver (18) Charlie Mason (19) and Lee Renshaw (17) hope to complete the legendary John O'Groats to Lands End journey, not walking or cycling as is usually the case, but on skateboards! If completed, it will be only the third successful attempt. However, their ambition doesn't stop there, they plan to smash the existing world record of 26 days by completing the 900 plus mile journey in under three weeks, averaging 45 miles/day. A tall order, perhaps, but when you learn that one of them is the world-record holder for the marathon distance on a skateboard (a staggering 1hr 49 minutes and 10 seconds in case you're interested) , the project suddenly sounds a little more tenable. They are looking for sponsorship and donations and hope to raise £5,000 in aid of the GoGo Trust in South Africa, a registered Non-Profit Organisation providing care and support for widows and orphans living in townships in Port Elizabeth.
