Families: Holiday Experiences
Destination Inspiration....
Discovery & Adventure
Discovery and adventure holidays are about meeting the locals, learning about their cultures and history, trying the food, exploring ancient monuments and hidden cities, sleeping in a desert, jungle camp or a hill-tribe village perhaps, sailing a traditional Felucca down the Nile, or riding camels and elephants to remote camps.
These are family holidays that immerse you into the heart and soul of your destination with memorable experiences and time to relax and enjoy each others company.
We deal with viturally all the main family adventure holiday companies, and with a few strategic questions we can help you focus in on what you really want from your holiday and which operators, destinations and itineraries might be the most suitable to you and your family.
Multi-activity

If you like your family holidays full of thrills and spills and adrenalin filled then look no further. We will have you rafting, snorkelling, sea-kayaking, mountain biking and quad biking all before you can say supercalifragalis…
If on the other hand, you like to be active on holiday but prefer the excitement to be a little tamer, then there are plenty of relaxed walking and cycling holidays in Europe and further afield that will get you to the heart of the destination, but keep the pulse rates down.
The family activity holidays we arrange are through award winning companies and all are graded to be suitable for different age groups. Specific departures for teenagers are also offered and can involve more technical or challenging activities where full instruction is given.
Skiing

We arrange top quality family ski holidays in the Alps, where the child-care and ski-tuition for youngsters is world-class and the freedom to ski and total relaxation for adults is considered just as important.
Call 01392 660056 and ask for Adrian who is used to travelling and skiing with young children.
Have you considered an alternative winter family holiday? How about dog sledding, snoe shoeing and snow-mobileing under the magical northern lights in northern Scandinavia?
Volunteering

Volunteering offers the chance for you and your family to be involved in community and conservation projects ranging from building vegetable patches and outbuildings for African schools, to helping scientists record species data in Sri Lanka, Costa Rica or the Galapagos.
It is important to encourage a sense of realism from the outset – volunterring holidays do not change the world overnight – but with projects carefully selected by a handful of leading operators that have responsible tourism at their heart, you can make a very small difference to local communities and the environment and meet some amazing people along the way.
Minimum AgesThe minimum age on any volunteer trip will vary depending on the nature of the project and the operator organising the holiday. Contact us with the ages of your children and we will do our best to match you to the most appropriate options.
Examples of volunteering holidays suitable for families that we can arrange include:
- Turtle Conservation in Costa Rica
- Primate research conservation in Sri Lanka
- Conservation walks and community interaction in Zambia
- Renovating schools and clinics in Nepal, Tanzania & Kenya
- Renovating gardens and water supply systems in Vietnam
- Seed collection and re-planting projects on the Galapagos Islands
- Community living and interaction in southern Thailand
- Conservation tracking of Giant Pandas in China
- Tree planting projects in Vietnam
Walking & Trekking

If you’re an active family that enjoy the outdoors in the UK, then why not consider a walking or trekking holiday abroad?
Given careful planning, even trekking holidays in the Himalaya or South America are feasible options for families. Obviously a trek’s suitability will depend on the age spread within a family, but even the young ones can be catered for exceptionally well, especially in the Himalaya and Morocco – ask us how!
Classic treks such as the Inca Trail and others are all possible as well as options in the Annapurna and Everest regions, the Alps.
For a great introduction to trekking in the developing world, how about an easy trek in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. The Sinai desert is another great option for families wanting an active walking holiday. The desert wilderness, stunning night skies, friendly Bedouin and crystal clear blue waters of the Red Sea are sure to be a hit.
Wildlife & Safaris

Want to track tigers in the jungles of India? How about search for the ‘Big 5’ on the plains of East Africa? Or perhaps swim with sea lions in the Galapagos?
Our range of family friendly wildlife and safari holidays will bring you face to face with some of the most amazing wildlife on the planet.
African safaris are an obviously popular family holiday, but where you go and how you travel has a huge impact on the quality and frequency of your wildlife encounters.
Safaris are never a cheap holiday, so it pays to make the most of your money. We can help you choose destinations and style of holiday so that your family get the best possible chance of some amazing, heart thumping wildlife encounters.
Winter Activity & Northern Lights

Want to try your hand at snow shoeing and cross-country skiing, snow-mobiling, dog-sledging or ice-fishing? If so, we have an action packed range of family holidays to offer.
Kids simply love the whole package: the crunch of deep crisp snow, adrenalin filled days, cosy fires in remote huts, good food and hot saunas to relax you after a hectic day. Reindeer safaris followed by a night in an igloo or an ice or snow hotel are all possible.
We have multi-activity holiday across Scandinavia and Lapland, as well as the eastern European countries too.
Northern Lights
If you head north to Scandinavia or Iceland, then you have the chance of seeing the spell-binding northern lights. We can design short tailor-made breaks, and also offer off-the-shelf small group family holidays.
The winter of 2011-12 is set to be one of the most spectacular due to the Solar cycle.
