Bridgwater College
Destination Inspiration....
The College wanted to start an overseas expedition programme as part of the Creative, Action, Service (CAS) element of the IB. The expedition needed to have a project phase, adventure, some easy trekking and be an enriching cultural and educational experience.

Through our tour operator connections we designed a 10 day programme involving a project to build an incinerator in a remote mountain village, 2 days of trekking, a multi-day camel trek in the Sahara and time to explore the bustling city of Marrakech. |
Testimonial | The trip started in Marrakech with its assault on our senses; the heat, colour, aromas, tastes, sights and shopping were second to none. We then spent two gruelling days trekking in the High Atlas and to our project in a village. We really immersed ourselves in the warm welcome offered by the village and worked hard building, planting, labouring and playing with the children. After the project we travelled to the Sahara for two amazing days riding camels and sleeping under desert skies. Undoubtedly it was tough, but it was an amazing experience. We hope to keep up our links with the community project and intend to return. |
Additional Notes | The college have now organised three expeditions to Morocco to work on development projects within the village. |
